The Biden Presidency – 6 Months In

For many of us the election of Joe Biden ended a very rough four year Trump presidency. While ‘sleepy Joe’ has clearly lost a step and perhaps a bit of his younger mind, he is at least not a constantly lying narcissist who believes he has special rights because his name is Trump.

The highlight to date has to be the COVID Relief Package released in March of this year to great fanfare. Also called the American Rescue Plan, it dumped nearly 2 trillion dollars into the effort to speed the vaccination process and alleviate some of the worst financial issues that emerged due to the pandemic. So Joe spearheaded that, and it was a great success.

In truth, that’s pretty much the end of the highlights. Since then we’ve seen a lot of noise about infrastructure, voting rights, immigration reform, police reform, gun violence and other topics, but with little in the way of substantial legislation or change.

Indeed, for all the corporate media ‘well isn’t this better than Trump’ crap, we still have unending wars, with Biden recently bombing Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and now Somalia. We have prettier words coming out of Washington about serious climate change efforts, but nothing of substance. In fact, Biden is approving oil pipelines at a faster rate than Trump. That’s taking climate chaos seriously, isn’t it?

And for all the gnashing of teeth and wringing of hands about Republican led efforts to disenfranchise voters, the Democrats are hardly better. And in a pinch they can count on Joe Manchin or Krysten Sinema to bring much needed change to a screeching halt. And Uncle Joe says something about ‘we need to fix this’ and nothing happens.

So the narrative game goes on. With COVID, the controlling powers have made an unprecedented attempt to control the populations of the world. There is so much disinformation one can hardly tell up from down on such things like…

  1. How deadly is the virus in truth?
  2. How deadly is the vaccine in truth?
  3. What is the real efficacy of the vaccine?
  4. Do masks truly have a positive effect on preventing infection?
  5. Why do so many speak out against the official narrative?
  6. Why have only 40% of doctors submitted to the vaccine?

And that’s just for starters. What about actual treatments like ivermectin or chloroquine? While official structures like the CDC and US government condemn them as ineffective and unsafe, both are easily available and cheap. If your ‘client’ is Big Pharm, the last thing you want is a cheap and effective way to deal with COVID. Cuts down on corporate profits, cuts way down on fear, two things your government does not support.

So if I were to give the Joe Biden Presidency a grade, it would be a D – same of damn bullshit we’ve been getting for a generation or longer.

We cannot escape being impacted by the shitty response to citizens we get from our government, but we can do our best to escape their old worn narratives. Vaxxers and anti-vaxxers is one of the many false dichotomies media and corporations would have you spend your brain time on. Don’t fall for such things. We must be laser focused on the damage corporations and nation-states are doing to us and our dear planet.
